IV therapy, or intravenous therapy, is a treatment method where fluids, medications, vitamins, or nutrients are delivered directly into the bloodstream through a vein using a small needle or plastic tube. This allows for faster absorption and more efficient use of the substances compared to oral intake.
For healthy individuals IV Therapy is very safe and effective. Although rare, it could cause side effects. For this reason it is very important to answer your health questions fully and accurately. If you have any concerns please address them with your healthcare provider.
Although rare, side effects are usually limited to localized irritation, redness or swelling at the insertion site. Some patients may experience warmth or flushing usually due to Magnesium in some products. It is very important to disclose all medical history, meds and allergies during the consultation process with the provider.
There are many conditions that IV Therapy can help. Many clients use IV's to boost energy and immunity prior to travel or if feeling ill. Athletes often use IV therapy to enhance performance and speed up recovery after intense physical activity or to help with muscle cramps. Additionally, IV drips can support immune health, help alleviate hangovers, and provide relief from jet lag. Other IV's can help with skin quality, energy and hydration. They’re also used for medical purposes, such as managing chronic conditions or nutrient deficiencies that are difficult to address with oral supplements alone.
Our Nurse Practitioner, Emily consults with each client in person who receives an IV. She reviews their medical history, medications, allergies and helps guide each client on which drip is best for them. She collects their vital signs, starts each IV, mixes the cocktails on site and monitors the client during the entire process. Emily is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has over 20 years of experience.
Most drips take approximately one hour from start to finish. We also offer all our IV clients complimentary compression therapy boots during their infusion.
